RATES & INSURANCE INFORMATION

Fees

Deductibles and session fees are collected on the date of service, unless prior arrangements have been made.

Session Costs

(before insurance)

Intake Sessions * $200

Your first appointment will be a comprehensive intake. The goal of this first session is to get an idea of who you are, what is affecting the quality of your life, and how I can best help you. It is also the beginning of putting together the course of your treatment.

Individual Sessions * $175

After the intake, individual therapy sessions typically last 55 minutes and are either biweekly or weekly sessions, scheduled at a time reserved for you.

Insurance

I am an in-network provider for most Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Aetna plans, which means that I will bill them directly for payment. I am not considered in-network with specialized Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Aetna plans, such as Blue Local, Blue Home, Medicaid Blue Value, or Aetna Whole Health. I am also an in-network provider for most United Healthcare, Oxford, Oscar, Cigna, Quest Behavioral Health, Anthem EAP, and Carelon Behavioral Health plans through the Headway platform. If you have a specific question about your policy, please contact your provider directly.

Also, please be aware of what your deductible and co-pay are for your individual plan. I can give you an estimate based on what your insurance tells me, but this may not always be accurate.

Private Pay

If I am out-of-network with your insurance provider, you are responsible for paying the full fee, per session. I am able to provide you with a receipt, also often referred to as a superbill, in order for you to be reimbursed. However, I cannot guarantee reimbursement from your insurance provider. Please contact your provider directly for any questions about your out-of-network benefits.

Missed Sessions & Cancellations

In order to both organize my practice and guarantee clients regular times, I schedule a single weekly (or biweekly) time slot just for you. Missed sessions are not billable to insurance and will be billed directly to you if the proper cancellation procedures are not followed. A charge of the full session is applied when appointments are missed or cancelled with less than 24 hours notice. Missed session or late cancellation fees can be waived for emergencies only. If a client is routinely 15 minutes or more late for an appointment, this is considered a late cancel/no show appointment, as this impacts our therapeutic work.

Good Faith Estimate Notice

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises/.
